The standard contains the accumulated knowledge and experience from cooperation between research and industry. The damage types pitting, tooth root fracture, scuffing, micropitting and, for the first time, flank fracture are now summarized in an international standard. This provides a secure basis for the industry to develop reliable and sustainable products.
