Simulation Hub 1.1 released

Good news for Simulation Hub users! The new version 1.1 update makes it even easier to automate and distribute calculations and evaluations.

Gearbox calculations are usually performed by specialized departments. However, there is also an increasing need for simulations in other areas of the company. One such example is technical sales, which relies on safety and service life calculations to advise customers on product selection. But simulation departments can rarely provide this type of just-in-time calculations.

FVA has developed a solution to meet this need for additional simulations in other areas of the company: the Simulation Hub, a server-based platform for automated simulations and calculations.

Version 1.1 of the Simulation Hub was recently released, with a focus on improved user-friendliness and simple administration.

Based on customer feedback, the task queue has been optimized to give technical sales a higher priority to bypass calculation departments' mass processing tasks. This allows them to skip to the front of the task queue and prioritize urgent customer requests.

Mass calculations can often take a very long time, so automatic monitoring of the tasks is required. Failed tasks can block individual calculation nodes. For this reason, the JobTimeout parameter can be used to specify the maximum runtime of a calculation task. If the calculation takes longer than the assigned time, it is automatically purged.

These improvements require new endpoints in the Simulation Hub API. The current endpoints will be retained until further notice for compatibility purposes.

Due to improvements in FVA-Workbench 9.0, it is only compatible with Simulation Hub 1.1. By updating to the latest version, you get new calculation functionalities as well as operational improvements in the Simulation Hub. We would be happy to advise you on how you can automate your processes.
